P1 Synthetic Microcarriers for Cell Culture

P1 synthetic microcarriers are microcarriers for cell culture designed to support the expansion of adherent cells, including more demanding cell types. Made from a fully defined synthetic polymer, P1 provides a controlled and consistent surface for cell attachment.

These microcarriers are not dissolvable and are suited to processes where stable, non-degradable carriers are required. P1 can be tailored in stiffness, size, and surface properties depending on application needs.

  • Synthetic microcarriers for cell culture
  • Fully defined polymer composition
  • Positively charged surface to support cell attachment
  • Available in Soft, Medium, and Hard stiffness profiles
  • Tunable particle size, surface charge, and coatings

Description

Performance & Process Data

P1 synthetic microcarriers have been evaluated in adherent cell culture using HEK293T cells across both static and bioreactor conditions.

  • Greater than 85% cell attachment within the first 24 hours
  • Cell expansion of approximately 8-fold over 3 days
  • Cell densities reaching approximately 1 × 10⁶ cells/mL
  • Post-harvest cell viability exceeding 95%

P1 provides a stable, non-dissolvable microcarrier platform for processes where controlled surface properties and standard cell harvesting workflows are preferred.

Microcarriers for Cell Culture Workflows

P1 microcarriers are used in microcarrier-based cell culture where strong cell attachment and surface control are required. The positively charged surface supports adhesion of a range of cell types, including those that are more difficult to culture.

As a non-dissolvable platform, P1 remains stable throughout the culture process and can be removed using standard separation methods. The surface can also be modified or coated by the user to match specific process requirements.

Applications

These microcarriers for cell culture are suitable for:

  • Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
  • Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs)
  • HEK293T cells
  • Myoblasts and fibroblasts
  • Virus production
  • Cell therapy and cultured meat workflows
