Hyaluronic Acid Methacryloyl (HAMA) is a photocrosslinkable hydrogel for 3D cell culture, tissue engineering, and bioprinting. Derived from hyaluronic acid, a major component of the extracellular matrix, HAMA provides a biologically relevant environment while enabling precise control over hydrogel formation through light-induced crosslinking.
Smart MCs offers HAMA in two molecular weight variants, HAMA-150K and HAMA-400K, allowing researchers to select the formulation best suited to their application. Each kit includes HAMA and LAP photoinitiator for fast, reliable hydrogel formation under visible light.
For research use only. Not intended for human clinical applications.
Each HAMA Hydrogel Set includes HAMA with a white, sponge-like appearance and complementary LAP photoinitiator.
| SKU | HAMA Size | LAP Included | DoF | Molecular Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HAMA-150K-0.5g | 0.5 g | 0.025 g | 30–40% | 100–200 kDa |
| HAMA-150K-5g | 5 g | 0.25 g | 30–40% | 100–200 kDa |
| HAMA-400K-0.2g | 0.2 g | 0.025 g | 20–30% | 300–400 kDa |
| HAMA-400K-2g | 2 g | 0.25 g | 20–30% | 300–400 kDa |
HAMA-150K provides medium viscosity with tunable stiffness, making it suitable for tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, and structural hydrogel constructs.
HAMA-400K provides higher viscosity and forms softer, more compliant hydrogels for applications including cell encapsulation, injectable systems, and drug delivery.
Both formulations cure under 405 nm light with LAP and can be combined with other hydrogels such as GelMA to create composite bioinks with enhanced printability and biological performance.
HAMA is designed to provide consistent performance across a variety of hydrogel applications.
Suitable for:
HAMA provides a biologically relevant hydrogel platform derived from hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the extracellular matrix. Its tunable mechanical properties, rapid light-induced crosslinking, and compatibility with other biomaterials make it well suited for soft tissue engineering, advanced 3D cell culture, and biofabrication applications.
Custom HAMA formulations are available for specialised research applications, including:
