Smart MCs CEO and Co-Founder, Dr Payar Radfar, has been invited to deliver a seminar at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), part of Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), on 22 October 2026.

The seminar, titled “Innovations in Biomaterials and Microfluidics for Scalable Cell Culture and Tissue Engineering”, will cover Smart MCs’ work on microcarriers, hydrogels and microfluidic technologies, with applications in large-scale cell culture and tissue engineering.

Seminar Abstract

Dr Payar Radfar, CEO and Co-Founder of Smart MCs, will present biomaterials and microfluidic technologies developed for scalable cell culture and tissue engineering.

The presentation will focus on cell-type-specific microcarriers for large-scale cell culture, including mesenchymal stem cell manufacturing, examining how substrate properties such as stiffness, surface charge and other physical and chemical characteristics influence different cell types and applications.

The seminar will also cover hydrogels for 3D bioprinting, cell patterning and 2D/3D cell culture, followed by microfluidic technologies for cell handling, sorting and droplet generation.
